Christopher Price Apprehended by K9 Kiska in Assault Investigation

At 11:01 PM Anchorage Police responded to the Tikahtnu Shopping Center regarding an adult male threatening to harm people with a screwdriver.  It was alleged that 32-year-old Christopher M. Price had entered the movie theater complex, went into several different individual theaters, and threatened people with the tool.  It was also reported he was advancing on vehicles while holding the screwdriver.

Swing shift officers located Price, with the screwdriver in his hand, walking outside in front of one of the individual stores.  Officers ordered Price to drop the tool.  Price failed to comply and began to flee on foot.  As Price was running, he dropped the screwdriver.  Multiple commands were given to Price to stop; K9 warnings were also given.  Price continued to flee; K9 Kiska was deployed.  K9 Kiska contacted Price on his arm which allowed officers to take Price into custody without further incident.

Price was evaluated by AFD medics at the scene and then transported to a local hospital for treatment of the bite.  Afterwards Price was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charges of Violate Conditions of Release and four counts of Assault III.

No other injuries were reported.  Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
