Suspect Search for James Grubb

Update at 8:20 PM:

Officers are breaking down the perimeter; James Grubb is still outstanding.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call APD Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1) or 907-786-8900 (press “0”).  You may submit an anonymous tip online at www.AnchorageCrimeStoppers.com.

Original at 8PM:

At 7:16 PM on May 3, 2024, an Anchorage Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near W 34th Avenue and A Street. The driver did not yield and the officer disengaged.  The suspect continued to drive recklessly; officers were being flagged down by citizens regarding his driving behavior. Ultimately the suspect’s unoccupied vehicle was found disabled at 7:24 PM near W 30th Avenue and Arctic Boulevard; the suspect had fled on foot.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old James A. Grubb.  Grubb is wanted for felony eluding for his actions this evening.  He has an unrelated existing misdemeanor Fail to Appear warrant on the original charges of Operating under the Influence and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance V.

There is a large police presence in the area of where Grubb abandoned the vehicle.  Officers are using a drone in their search for him.  Grubb is 5’09” tall, 160 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.  Anyone who sees him is asked to call APD Dispatch at 9-1-1.
