Chance Lealao Arrested on Felony Warrant

Update on 9/21/23:

On August 30, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to a residence on the 100-block of Clover Hollow Court regarding a domestic violence assault wherein the suspect had already left the scene.  As a result of that investigation, a felony arrest warrant was obtained for 27-year-old Chance Lealao for the charges of Assault II, Assault IV, and Criminal Mischief V (APD Case 23-28111).

At 3:37 PM on September 20, 2023, Anchorage Police returned to the address on Clover Hollow to conduct follow-up on the August 30th assault.  While there, officers learned Lealao was in the apartment on another floor.  As officers announced themselves and approached the room, Lealao jumped out of the window and fled on foot.

Several officers responded, a perimeter was set up, and a K9 search was conducted.  After a tip from a citizen who had spotted Lealao running; officers located Lealao hiding in the bushes near E 24th Avenue and Eagle Street.  He was taken into custody at 5:31 PM.  Once he was medically cleared, Lealao was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on his felony warrant.  He was additionally charged with Resisting.

Chance Lealao has been taken into custody. Officers are clearing the scene. Thank you for your cooperation.

At 3:37 PM on September 20, 2023, a swing shift patrol officer spotted a subject with a felony warrant. Upon seeing police, 27-year-old Chance J. Lealao fled on foot. There is currently a large police presence between A Street and New Seward (east and west sides of the perimeter) and between W 23rd Avenue and W 16th Avenue (north and south sides of the search area). A drone and K9 track team are also being used in the suspect search.

Please avoid the area. If you do need to be in the vicinity, please follow the instructions of the on-scene officers. If you live in the area and see someone running through or hiding on your property, call 9-1-1.

Lealao has long black hair, a thin build, and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue shorts, and no footwear.
