REQUESTS FOR POLICE RECORDS OR OTHER MEDIA (AUDIO, VIDEO, OR PHOTOS) ARE MADE THROUGH THE ONLINE APD PUBLIC RECORDS CENTER.

NOTE:

  • Documents must be requested separately from other media.

  • Please submit ONLY ONE case/incident number per request.

  • ALL records are REDACTED in accordance with the law.
    Please see the consent form information below to learn how to receive partially unredacted records.

  • A NON-REFUNDABLE ADMINISTRATIVE FILING FEE applies to public records requests. AMC 3.90.050B

Before creating a request in the APD Public Records Center, be aware: If you are requesting information about yourself or a person over whom you have legal custody, in order to receive that information without redactions, you will need to fill out one of the following consent forms, sign it, provide proof of identity, and attach the form to your request in the records center.  

Proof of Identity: You may either have your signature notarized by a Notary Public (Alaska Notary Commissions: https://aws.state.ak.us/NotaryDirectory/) OR bring the form(s) and valid ID to the Anchorage Police Department Headquarters Front Desk (716 W. 4th Ave, Anchorage) to be witnessed by an APD officer or clerk.

  • Adult - choose this form if you are requesting records pertaining to yourself.

  • Adult with Guardian - choose this form if you are requesting records pertaining to an incapacitated adult for whom you are the legal guardian.

  • Juvenile - choose this form if you are requesting records pertaining to a juvenile for whom you have legal custody.
