Juvenile Arrested at Service High School for school threat investigation

At 9:59 AM on May 12, 2023 an officer assigned to the Anchorage Police Department School Resource Unit (SRO) responded to Service High School for a report from a staff member that a student had made threats last night via social media that they had a bomb at the school.

Through the investigation it was determined the post on social media was made by a Service High student. The suspect was contacted and interviewed.

It was ultimately determined there were no bombs brought to the school nor did the student take any additional steps after posting the photo to hurt anyone. Charges for the student have been forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
