21-year-old Zarrius Hildabrand Arrested for Murder
Update on 08/18/23:
From the Office of the Attorney General:
Today, an Anchorage grand jury returned an indictment charging 21-year-old Zarrius Hildabrand with the death of his wife Saria Hildabrand, who had been reported missing on August 7, 2023. The indictment charges murder in the first degree, murder in the second degree and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.
These charges are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Hildabrand is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections. His bail is set at $250,000 cash performance and $250,000 cash appearance plus conditions of release, including house arrest/electronic monitoring. He faces up to 99 years for each of the Murder charges. Hildabrand is scheduled to be arraigned before the Superior Court on August 22, 2023.

This is now being investigated as a homicide.
21-year-old Zarrius Hildabrand has been taken into custody and remanded at the Anchorage Jail for Murder 1, Murder 2, and Tampering with Evidence.

At 2:31PM on August 10, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to the 1400-block of Alpenhorn Avenue for an ongoing investigation.
The Crime Scene Team will be responding to process the scene.

At 12:52 PM on August 9, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to a residence on the 5200-block of Mockingbird Drive for an ongoing investigation. The Crime Scene Team will be responding to process the scene.

Officers are requesting the public’s help in locating 21-year-old Saria Hildabrand who was reported as missing to APD on August 7, 2023. She was last seen on August 6th at 10:00 AM near Mockingbird Drive and Alpenhorn Avenue. Efforts to locate her have been unsuccessful.
Saria Hildabrand is 5'08" tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans, and black shoes. She was carrying her purse.
