Arrest By K9: 115 E 3rd Avenue
On 11/30/2025 at 3:55 a.m., officers assigned to mid-shift patrol and APD K9, responded to 115 E 3rd Ave., after employees called dispatch to report a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The license plate provided to dispatch was a match for a listed stolen vehicle.
Officers arrived on scene just as the vehicle was preparing to leave the parking lot and confirmed it was stolen. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Deandrea Robertson, exited the vehicle and fled on foot from officers - heading westbound on 3rd Avenue toward A Street.
Officers gave chase and Robertson was issued canine warnings which he ignored. K9 Kevin was released and subsequently apprehended Robertson by biting him on the right upper arm.
Officers were able to take Robertson into custody without further incident. Robertson was transported to a local hospital where he was treated. Once medically cleared, Robertson was transported to the Anchorage Jail where he was remanded for Vehicle Theft 1, Theft 2, Criminal Mischief 3, fail to stop, and resisting arrest.
