ASSAULT INVESTIGATION: 3900 BLOCK E 8th AVE

At approximately 12:28 PM on February 6, 2026, Anchorage Police officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of E 8th Ave, regarding a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with an injury to his upper body.

Through the course of the investigation, officers discovered a disturbance occurred between two men and that one adult male assaulted the other by hitting him with a blunt instrument. AFD medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

Several witnesses and the suspect were transported to APD Headquarters to be interviewed by detectives. Following the investigation, 32-year-old Johnathen Larsen was charged with two counts of Assault in the First Degree and one count of Assault in the Second Degree. Larsen was transported to the Anchorage Correctional Complex and remanded on his charges.
