Audrey Demientieff Arrested in Stabbing Investigation

At 6:46 AM on January 21, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to the Aptel Studio Hotel at 624 Rodeo Place regarding a stabbing.  Officers located the adult male victim in the hotel lobby with a stab wound to the upper body.  The responding officer provided medical care until AFD medics arrived and took over.  The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injury which he is expected to survive.

Other responding officers contacted the suspect, 39-year-old Audrey R. Demientieff, inside the hotel room where she and the victim had been staying.  Demientieff was cooperative and was detained without incident.  Per Demientieff’s request, she was transported to a hospital for evaluation of non-related existing medical issues.  Once medically cleared, Audrey Demientieff was remanded at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center on the charge of Assault II.

Initial indications are that Audrey Demientieff got into a verbal argument with the adult male victim when she retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim inside their hotel room.  The suspect and victim were known to one another; this is a domestic violence related crime.  The victim was provided information from officers on how to apply for a Domestic Violence Restraining Order.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.
