Cheyenne Parks Charged in this Morning’s Weapons Offense Investigation

At 8:31 AM on May 16, 2023, Anchorage Police Dispatch began receiving calls regarding a woman who was firing a gun outside and pointing it at passersby near Mountain View Drive and N Lane Street.  As police were responding to the location, it was learned the woman had gone into a home on the 200-block of N Lane Street.

Day-shift patrol officers set up a perimeter around the residence.  Officers made announcements; a compliant adult male exited the home and was detained.  Shortly afterwards a woman emerged who matched the description of the suspect; she was taken into custody without incident.

After obtaining permission from the property owner, officers searched the home and recovered the involved loaded weapon. 35-year-old Cheyenne Parks was remanded at Hiland Correctional on the charges of Assault III, Misconduct Involving a Weapon III – Felon in Possession, and Misconduct Involving a Weapon IV – Shooting at or Across a Highway.

There were no injuries.  The adult male was released without being charged.
