Chudier Bangout Facing Multiple Charges in Burglary Investigation

Update on 4/30/24:

The following are additional details on this case:

Anchorage Police responded to reports of at least one person being inside a residence who shouldn’t be there.  APD contacted the homeowner and verified no one should be inside.  Upon arrival officers saw a 2008 white Ford van parked in the driveway; officers blocked it in with their patrol vehicles. For at least an hour officers gave multiple commands for whoever was inside to come out.  Those went unheeded.  As officers cleared the home, they could hear movement in the attic.  A drone was deployed into the attic which sustained extensive damage from being kicked by the suspect.

Officers gave the suspect instructions to come out of the attic.  The suspect failed to comply for several minutes but eventually dropped down and was taken into custody without further incident. Once detained, the suspect refused to give his name.  He was ultimately identified as Chudier Bangout by his fingerprints.  A computer check revealed he had three outstanding warrants.

During the investigation, APD Dispatch received a call from the owner of the white van.  It was determined the owner had allowed a friend to use the van.  The van was subsequently stolen from the friend, approximately two hours prior to the burglary on Young Street, from an apartment complex on Mockingbird Drive.  Furthermore, it was found that Bangout had several ID and credit cards in his possession that belong to other people.
