DEATH INVESTIGATION: 3500-block E 42nd Ave

DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: April 23, 2025, 5:40 PM

NARRATIVE: At 5:40 PM on April 23, 2025, Anchorage Police were dispatched to the 3500-block of E 42nd Avenue for a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers observed a deceased individual through the window. Police made observations that warrant a closer look; the circumstances surrounding the death are still under investigation.

The Crime Scene Team will be responding to process the scene. Ultimately the cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner.

UPDATED NARRATIVE: Upon entry into the residence, officers discovered two deceased male adults and one deceased female adult. Ultimately, the cause of death of the deceased individuals will be determined by the Medical Examiner.

The dynamics of what happened are still under investigation; there is no further information available at this time.  

UPDATE: All three victims have been identified and next-of-kin have been notified. The male adult victims were 37 and 41 years old. The female adult victim was 23 years old. This crime is domestic violence related; therefore, the victim’s names will not be released by APD. The investigation is ongoing; ultimately, the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. It is believed to be an isolated incident.
