NARRATIVE: Last night APD responded multiple times to reports of disturbances with a weapon involving a suspect in the South Anchorage Area. The suspect was later located on the Glenn Highway. The suspect eluded officers and was later located near Eagle River Nature Center, at Cirrus Way and Eagle River Rd. The suspect fired at officers before turning the weapon on himself sustaining self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The suspect was declared deceased on the scene.
