Jade Clifton arrested for stabbing two people

At 5:56 PM on September 14, 2022, Anchorage Police responded to the Black Angus Inn at 1430 Gambell Street regarding a stabbing.  Initial indications are that 19-year-old Jade H. Clifton was in a room at the Black Angus with several other people.  Jade got into a physical altercation with another adult female (Victim #1) during which time Jade dispensed a can of bear spray at Victim #1, an adult male (Victim #2), and a third person (also an adult male).  The fight ensued; Jade grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Victim #2 in the upper body; Victim #2 left the room.  Jade then stabbed Victim #1 in the lower body; Jade fled the area on foot.

While medics and police were responding to the Black Angus, Jade’s name and description were aired over the radio.  As some officers attended to the victims, others began looking for Jade.  Ultimately it was determined Jade was given a ride from the area and was dropped off in a neighborhood near Boniface Parkway and E Tudor Road.  Due to citizens calling in reports of a woman running down the street, Jade was located outside on the 3900-block of Reflection Drive.  She was taken into custody without incident at 6:53 PM.

Jade Clifton was remanded at Hiland Correctional on one count of Assault I, two counts of Assault II, and three counts of Assault IV.

Everyone involved in the incident were known to one another.  Both victims were transported to area hospitals and are expected to survive.  There is no indication that the person who gave Jade a ride knew about the criminal incident Jade had just been involved in.
