Kalani Robb Charged In September 9th Shooting

At 12:43 AM on September 9, 2023, Anchorage Police were informed of a shooting in the alley north of W 4th Avenue and G Street.  Initial indications are that there were groups of people in three different vehicles who were all stopped at that location.  A verbal altercation between people from all three cars began, it turned physical, and then at least one person fired a weapon striking a juvenile teenaged female once in the upper body.

The driver of the SUV containing the wounded teenager headed towards the hospital when it was involved in a collision at Lake Otis Parkway and E Northern Lights Boulevard (the first call regarding the crash came into APD Dispatch at 12:47 AM).  The preliminary investigation into the crash shows that the SUV was travelling south on Lake Otis at a high rate of speed when it entered the intersection with E Northern Lights Boulevard on a red light.  The SUV collided with a gray Ford pickup being driven westbound on Northern Lights.  Prior to officers and medics arriving at the crash site, another driver stopped and picked up the shooting victim and drove her the rest of the way to the hospital.  No one else involved in the collision required medical attention.

No one was charged with the shooting the morning it happened.  Through the subsequent investigation, 21-year-old Kalani B. D. Robb was identified as a suspect.  On September 27th, Robb was located by officers and transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives.  Afterwards Robb was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the felony charges of Assault I and Misconduct Involving a Weapon I.

The at-fault driver of the SUV involved in the crash on September 9th, 19-year-old Kamailelei Domingo, was charged with Reckless Driving.  The shooting victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.  The motive for the argument and subsequent shooting is still under investigation.
