Malik Allen Arrested for Injury Hit and Run Collision

At 1:53 AM on December 2, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to the intersection of W 4th Avenue and E Street regarding a hit-and-run vehicle versus pedestrian collision.  Through the investigation officers determined a Ford Expedition was traveling eastbound on 4th Avenue, just prior to E Street, when the Ford struck an adult female who was in the roadway but not in a crosswalk.  The suspect driver did initially stop but then left the scene without contacting authorities.

AFD medics arrived at the scene prior to APD; they transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were later determined to be life-threatening.  At the time of this release (12/21/23), the victim has not succumbed to her injuries.

On December 3rd APD officers located the Ford they believed to be involved.  The SUV was impounded for evidence from an apartment complex parking lot located on the 5600-block of Lake Otis Parkway.  The vehicle was searched once a search warrant was obtained.

APD Traffic Investigators determined the Ford’s driver had been 26-year-old Malik A. Allen.  On December 18th an arrest warrant for Allen was obtained for the charges of Failure to Render Aid, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Driving on a Suspended License.  On December 19th officers assigned to the Major Collision Investigations Unit (MCIU) contacted Allen at his home, placed him under arrest, and remanded him at the Anchorage Jail.
