Midtown Stabbing Investigation

At 7:08 PM on September 19, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to the 2900-block of Park Place regarding an adult male assault victim.  Upon arrival officers contacted the man who had obvious injuries to include at least one stab wound in the upper body.  The male victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Initial indications are that the victim was in a physical altercation with several other individuals in the area between Walmart at 3101 A Street and Northrim Bank located at 3111 C Street.  After the assault the victim walked to the location where he was found by police.

The reason for the initial physical confrontation, along with whether the parties were known to one another beforehand, is still under investigation.
