TRAFFIC FATALITY: MULDOON ROAD AND PECK AVENUE

On October 17, 2026, at about 10 p.m., APD responded to the area of Muldoon Road and Peck Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.  Despite lifesaving attempts, the pedestrian was declared deceased on scene by the Anchorage Fire Department.  The pedestrian is identified as 62-year-old Bertha Nesbit. Next-of-Kin notification procedures are complete.

Initial investigation revealed that Nesbit was crossing Muldoon Road between Peck and Dubin when she was struck by a Ford Escape. The driver of the Ford Escape remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. This remains under investigation by the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MICU).
