Today marks the beginning of Native American Heritage month. Anchorage is home to a very diverse population, and we celebrate the history, heritage, and cultures of the Alaska Native people, whose cultures date back thousands of years to the original inhabitants of the land. We value and respect the resiliency of the diverse cultures and contributions of Alaska Native and Native American people to our community, state, and country.

Join us this month to celebrate the diversity of the Indigenous communities across Alaska and the United States by recognizing their contributions to our country and their vital place in our history.
