SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: 1500 BLOCK E 43RD CT

At approximately 2:31 AM on April 5, 2026, Anchorage Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of E 43rd Ct. Upon arrival, officers learned that a party had been taking place at a nearby residence. Witnesses reported that several individuals had been arguing in a nearby parking lot and that an adult male fled the scene in a vehicle shortly after shots were fired. Officers located an adult female victim in the parking lot who appeared to have been shot multiple times in the upper body. The victim was transported to a hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries. The Crime Scene Team responded to process the scene.

Several witnesses were transported to APD Headquarters for questioning by Detectives.

During the investigation, Detectives developed sufficient probable cause to identify 30-year-old Jamario Eddie as the suspect in the shooting. A felony arrest warrant was obtained for Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Assault in the Third Degree. On April 8, 2026, Jamario Eddie was located, arrested, and remanded to the Anchorage Correctional Complex on these charges.
