TRAFFIC FATALITY: E 20TH AVE. AND INGRA ST.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Stephanie Howell. Next-of-kin notification procedures are complete.

UPDATE: All lanes of northbound Ingra St. and E 20th Ave. are now open.

The exact location of the pedestrian at the time of the collision is still under investigation. The vehicle involved was a commercial vehicle.

UPDATE: At 6:01 AM on February 17, 2026, Anchorage Police were dispatched to E 20th Ave. and Ingra St. for reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. The adult female pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. Next-of-kin notification procedures are not yet complete.

The northbound lanes of Ingra St. from Fireweed Blvd. to 15th Ave. and E 20th Ave. from Juneau St. to Ingra St. are closed while investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) process the scene. 

Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle who is cooperating with the investigation.
