TRAFFIC INVESTIGATION: BONIFACE OVERPASS

CURRENT STATUS: INITIAL REPORT

NARRATIVE: At approximately 4:33 p.m. on July 11, 2025, APD Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a crash on the Boniface overpass. A short time later, additional calls came in reporting gunfire heard in the same area—some callers noted they heard gunfire just before the crash.

Through the investigation, officers learned that two vehicles had exchanged gunfire at a separate location. After the shooting, one of the vehicles fled, ran a red light, and collided with a third vehicle that was not involved in the incident. The occupants of that vehicle fled the scene on foot.

The second vehicle involved in the gunfire left the area but later dropped off an injured individual at a local hospital before leaving again. The victim is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers are still actively looking for several individuals in connection with this case. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The Boniface overpass was temporarily closed while the scene was processed, but it has since reopened.
