West High School Student Charged in Threats Investigation

At 8:45 AM on August 23, 2023, APD officers assigned to the School Resource Unit responded to West High School at 1700 Hillcrest Drive regarding threats that were made.  Initial indications are that a West High School student made threats on social media the evening of August 22nd stating he/she would cause harm at the school.  The threats were reported by students to West High staff the morning of August 23rd; staff notified SROs.

SROs contacted the student in his/her first period class.  An investigation was conducted, and as a result, charges for the student have been forwarded to the Division of Juvenile Justice.

No weapons were found at the school.
