Anchorage Police Department Launches New Missing Persons Web Page with focus on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons

ANCHORAGE - The Anchorage Police Department (APD) today announced the launch of its new missing persons web page that focuses on overall cases as well as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP) information.

The new online resource is designed to provide community members with accessible information related to missing persons cases, investigative efforts, public safety resources, and opportunities for community engagement and accountability.

“Every case matters. Every victim deserves dignity, compassion, and a thorough investigation,” said Chief Sean Case. “This new web page reflects our commitment to accountability and continued partnership with the communities we serve.”

  • Information about how APD responds to and investigates missing persons cases

  • 2026 data related to missing persons investigations and homicide solve rates

  • Resources for families and community members seeking support

  • Guidance on how to report missing persons and submit tips

  • APD’s Public Action Plan & Accountability Roadmap outlining department response strategies, communication practices, training initiatives, internal processes, and future goals

Community members do not need to wait to report someone missing. Anyone with information about a missing person or suspicious activity is encouraged to contact APD immediately.
