Anchorage Police Officer Charged with DUI

APD Patrol Officer Charles Bowser has been charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) following an off-duty incident on March 9, 2026. At approximately 5:10 PM on March 9, 2026, officers responded to his Anchorage residence where Bowser was found appearing to be intoxicated. Following the incident, Bowser was transported for medical clearance, and a blood sample was collected pursuant to a search warrant as part of the ongoing investigation.

Investigation revealed he had been driving his department-issued, marked vehicle while off duty and impaired. The case was referred to the Office of Special Prosecutions, which formally charged Bowser with DUI on April 24, 2026. He has been placed on administrative leave pending both internal and external investigation.

Ofc. Charles Bowser has been with the Anchorage Police Department since May of 2014.
