ARREST BY K9: 1000 BLOCK OF W. TUDOR RD.
At approximately 1:25 AM on December 9, 2025, APD officers working mid-shift patrol were attempting to locate 31-year-old Jeremiah Talai near the 4300 block of Cope St. Talai had two outstanding felony arrest warrants.
Officers observed a suspected vehicle leaving the area and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop, struck a patrol vehicle, and hit two unoccupied parked cars before the occupants fled on foot. Officers confirmed Talai was one of the fleeing suspects.
After a brief foot pursuit, officers used a drone and K9 resources to locate Talai hiding in a backyard near the 1000 block of W. Tudor Rd. Talai did not comply with verbal commands and ignored K9 warnings. K9 Ray was deployed and apprehended Talai, allowing officers to take him into custody without further incident.
Talai was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a dog bite. After being medically cleared, he was transported to the Anchorage Correctional Complex and remanded on his outstanding warrants and an additional charge of Resisting Arrest.
None of the officers involved nor K9 Ray were injured during this incident.
