ARREST: NATHEN BLACKSHER

On 6-27-2025 at about 2:55 am APD responded to the area of the Glenn Highway between Fort Richardson and Hiland Road in the northbound lanes for numerous reports of a Chevrolet Malibu stopped in a lane of travel, causing other vehicles to swerve around it to avoid a collision.  While APD was still responding, additional callers reported that a Chevrolet Silverado had struck the stopped Chevrolet Malibu.  The juvenile driver of the Silverado was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

42-year-old Nathan Blacksher was identified as the driver of the Chevrolet Malibu. He was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were non-life-threatening. Officers noticed signs of intoxication while interacting with Blacksher. Subsequent laboratory testing indicated Blacksher’s blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

This collision was investigated by the APD Major Collision Investigation Unit.  On 8-12-2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Nathen Blacksher.  The APD MCIU coordinated with Alaska State Troopers, who took Blacksher into custody.  He has been remanded at Mat Su Pretrial with bail set at $10,000.
