K9 ARREST: 1200 BLOCK W. DIMOND BLVD

DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: September 10, 2025, 1:10 AM
NARRATIVE: At 01:10 AM on September 10, 2025, responded to the 1200 block of W Dimond Blvd in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers learned that one of the involved persons, 38-year-old Ezekiel Thomas, had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and Adult Probations requested Thomas be arrested for a felony probation violation. The first warrant was for failure to appear for an original charge of Assault IV, the second warrant was for Failure to Appear for original charges of OUI and Disobey Lawful order of Public Officer. The probation violation charged was related to an original charge of Robbery II.
Thomas refused to contact officers, and a search warrant was obtained. Canine warnings were issued when officers entered the residence and again when officers reached the room in which they believed Thomas was located, both with no response. Officers breached the door and K9 Rylin was released. K9 Rylin located Thomas and apprehended him by biting him on his left arm. Officers were able to take Thomas into custody without further incident.
Thomas was transported to the hospital for injuries related to the dog bite and once medically cleared he was transported to Anchorage Jail and remanded for his outstanding warrants, probation violation, and resisting arrest.
None of the officers involved nor K9 Rylin were injured during the incident.
