K9 ARREST: 2000 BLOCK OF MULDOON ROAD

On 10/25/25 at approximately 7:06 p.m.., officers assigned to swing-shift patrol and APD K9 responded to the 2000 Block of Muldoon Road for disturbance involving weapons. The victim reported to officers that his friend, 34-year-old Nadene Slats, had taken his firearm, threatened him with the firearm, and made threats to burn his trailer down. When officers arrived on scene Slats was the only person believed to be inside the trailer as the victim had left to meet with officers. A search warrant was obtained for officers to enter the residence. Prior to officers entering the residence several less lethal and canine announcements were made however Slats refused to make herself known to officers.

 Once the door was opened, they observed Slats was standing in the doorway with a firearm that was on the ground near her. Slats refused to follow officer’s commands and made statements of wanting to harm herself. More canine warnings were issued to Slats however she remained uncooperative. K9 AC was released to apprehend Slats and subsequently apprehended her by biting her on the on her right arm. Officers were able to take Slats into custody without further incident. Slats was transported to the hospital where she was treated for the injuries from the dog bite. Once medically cleared, Slats was transported to Hiland Mountain Correctional Center where she was remanded for Assault 3, MICS 5, and resisting arrest.

None of the officers involved nor K9 AC were injured during the incident.
