Kidnapping Allegations Unfounded

At 5:04 PM on April 1, 2024, Anchorage Police Dispatch received a phone call from a citizen who stated they saw a woman, who was walking on the sidewalk, get physically assaulted and forced into a vehicle by a male.  The caller stated it happened near B Street and W Tudor Road.  Officers responded and contacted several witnesses who all essentially reported the same thing the original complainant had.

Multiple officers searched for the involved vehicle and people.  While that was happening, Anchorage Police issued a RAVE alert asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect Ford Explorer.  The alert was comprised of descriptions for the vehicle, male suspect, and female victim.

Shortly after 9PM officers found the Explorer parked outside a residence near Clover Hollow Court and Fiddlehead Place.  Police approached the home and contacted the involved female and other occupants.  A thorough investigation was conducted which included an in-depth interview with the victim.  The victim had no visible injuries.  She stated she was not injured and that she had not been the victim of any crime. Ultimately the probable cause required to support criminal charges was not established.

Anchorage Police issued a secondary RAVE alert stating the vehicle and victim had been located.
