Warrant Locate for Inmate Brian Whittle; Cordova Center Halfway House Escapee

Update on 04/16/24:

On 04/16/24 at 01:48 AM, APD officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a non-functional tail-light covered with duct tape. A computer check revealed the vehicle was not registered. The officer requested identification for the occupants of the vehicle. A computer check revealed that the male adult in the passenger’s seat of the vehicle had provided false identity information. The officer asked the man to step out of the vehicle and provided him with a warning for giving false information, before again asking for his name and date of birth. The man provided the same information as before. The officer seated the male adult in his patrol vehicle where he then identified himself as Brian Whittle.  Whittle had a felony warrant for his arrest and additionally, had four open criminal cases with conditions of release.

Brian Whittle was arrested for his warrant, False Information, and four counts of Violating Conditions of Release. Whittle was transported to the Anchorage Correctional Facility where he was remanded and held without bail. A felony warrant for Escape III has been obtained for 41-year-old Brian K. Whittle who walked away from the Cordova Center.  He was serving time for Vehicle Tampering, Concealment of Merchandise, Removal of Merchandise, and Violate Conditions of Release.
