Ladarius Corbett Indicted For Attempted Murder

Feb. 29, 2024 (Anchorage, AK) – Yesterday, an Anchorage grand jury returned an indictment charging 25-year-old Ladarius Tywon Corbett with one count of Attempted Murder and several counts of Assault in the First and Second Degrees for a stabbing that occurred on Feb. 1, 2024. Corbett is charged with stabbing a neighbor in his apartment complex, without provocation, causing significant injuries to the victim’s neck and head.

These charges are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Corbett is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. His bail is set at $1,000 cash performance plus conditions of release, including supervision by the Pre-Trial Enforcement Division. He faces up to 99 years for the charge of Attempted Murder; 20 years for each charge of Assault in the First Degree; and 10 years for each charge of Assault in the Second Degree. Corbett is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court on March 1, 2024. The State has filed a Bail Review Application, asking the Superior Court to modify Corbett’s monetary bail and conditions of release.
