LARGE POLICE PRESENCE: 16500 block Centerpark Ct

ORIGINAL: On 1/6/2026, there is a large police presence the 16500 block of Centerpark Ct. in Eagle River for an ongoing investigation. Please avoid the area. If you must be in the area, please follow officer instructions. Thank you for your cooperation.

UPDATE: Anchorage Police responded to the 16500 block of Centerpark Court in Eagle River following a report of an adult male barricaded inside a residence who was threatening self-harm while holding a child. Officers safely removed the child from the residence and later made contact with the male without incident. The perimeter is being reduced; however, a significant police presence remains in the area at this time.

UPDATE ON 1/7/2026: Officers charged 21-year-old Keaton Day-Taylor with Assault 3, Assault 4, Criminal Mischief 4, Assault When Child Present, Reckless Endangerment, and Resisting Arrest. Day-Taylor was remanded at the Anchorage Correctional Complex on his charges.
