UPDATE: MATHEW THOMAS BECKER LOCATED DECEASED

On March 15, 2026, at approximately 10:24 a.m., APD found a deceased male with a gunshot wound to the upper body in a wooded area near the Eagle River campground. He is identified as 61-year-old Matthew Thomas Becker. Next-of-Kin procedures have been completed. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Several APD units worked through the day and night to locate Matthew Becker, who was a suspect in a homicide investigation at the 2800 block of Alder Drive.
