TRAFFIC FATALITY: ARLINGTON DR & W NORTHERN LIGHTS BLVD

DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: July 20, 2025, at 7:58 PM

At 7:58 PM on July 20, 2025, Anchorage Police were dispatched to the area of Arlington Dr. and W Northern Lights Blvd. in response to a collision between a motorcycle and pick-up truck. When APD officers and AFD Medics arrived on scene, they located the motorcycle and its driver who was found unresponsive. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a hospital by AFD Medics where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Christian Islas-Stauffer. Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

Investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) responded and processed the scene. Initial indications are that the motorcycle struck a white GMC pickup truck, which then fled the scene.
