TRAFFIC FATALITY, HIT AND RUN: NORTH POST ROAD

On September 4, 2026, at around 9:16 pm, the Anchorage Police Department (APD) responded to the area of N Post Road between N Sitka Street and N Wrangell Street for a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a Jeep Cherokee. The adult male motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep fled the scene in a different vehicle. 

The victim’s identity will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

This is being investigated by the Major Collision Investigation Unit. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to call 311.
