Traffic Investigation-Mile 83 Seward Highway

On 1/21/2023 at 12:39AM, Anchorage Police Department Mid Shift Patrol officers and Impaired Driving Enforcement Unit (IDEU) officers responded to MP 83 of the Seward Highway for a report of a 3-vehicle collision with injuries.

 The preliminary investigation has revealed that a Subaru Outback was traveling northbound on the Seward Highway when it crossed into the southbound lanes, initially striking a snow machine trailer being towed by a Ford F250, then rotating and getting struck in the passenger side rear by a GMC Sierra.

 The adult female driver of the Subaru Outback was transported to an area hospital by Girdwood Fire Department Medics with life-threatening injuries. She was the only occupant of the Subaru Outback. There were no other reported injuries.

 No citations have been issued.

On 01/21/23 at 12:39AM Anchorage Police Swing Shift Officers responded to a vehicle collision at Mile 83 of the Seward Highway. Both northbound and southbound lanes are currently closed while Officers investigate the collision.
