TRAFFIC INVESTIGATION: Seward Highway Mile 92.5

May 31, 2025 08:20am- Seward Mile 92.5 traffic is now moving in both directions.

UPDATE: At approximately 3:53 a.m., APD Dispatch received multiple calls reporting a vehicle accident on the Seward Highway near Mile 92.5.

Callers reported that a sedan was overturned and resting on the railroad tracks. Upon arrival, responding officers and emergency personnel located two adult males inside the vehicle.

The passenger was removed from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.

DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: ​May 31,2025 03:53 hours

ROAD CLOSURES: All lanes of both northbound and southbound traffic on the Seward Highway at mile 92.5 are closed while investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) process the scene. Please use alternative routes.
