Tuesday night shooting investigation on N Hoyt between Thompson and Peterkin; witnesses being sought

At 5:57 PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Anchorage Police responded to the 300-block of N Hoyt Street regarding a person who had been shot.  Upon arrival officers were flagged down by several citizens who were standing next to the adult male victim.  The victim was lying down outside; he had a gunshot wound to the lower body.  Officers provided first aid until medics arrived; the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening wound.

Initial indications are that the victim and the suspect had a brief altercation outside after which the suspect produced a handgun and fired at the victim. 

There have been no arrests and there is no suspect description available for release.
