WITNESSES SOUGHT: RECKLESS DRIVING ON THE GLENN HW ON 1/28/2026

On January 28, 2026, at approximately 6:23 AM, the Anchorage Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a reckless driver on the Glenn Highway near Mirror Lake.

An officer with APD’s Traffic Unit located the vehicle, a Ford flatbed truck with dual rear wheels, and conducted a traffic stop near the Hiland Road exit. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Bubba Thoms, was released from the scene with a court date for Reckless Driving.

Based on information provided by the initial 911 caller, APD believes there may be additional witnesses. Anyone who observed this vehicle driving on the Glenn Highway on January 28, 2026, or who may have in-car video footage of the vehicle, is asked to contact Ofc.
